Join in an exciting year with a new way for families of children grades 4K through 5th grade to learn our Catholic Faith.
Families are warmly welcomed to join A Family of Faith!
The vision of A Family of Faith is the formation of the whole family in order to strengthen the ties that bind us together in love, faith and witness. We believe this occurs when children learn the joys of following Jesus Christ and the truths of their Faith through the witness of Christian life given by their parents in what Pope Francis refers to as "the first school of love," the family.
A Family of Faith is an innovative alternative to CCD that encourages and equips parents to support the formation of their children's conscience, develop their religious imagination and grow in understanding the essential values of human life. By attending two gatherings a month - an Adult Meeting during which children are engaged in their own activities and a Community Meeting that includes a meal, lesson and shared activity/craft - parents who participate receive everything they need to share in and enjoy both parish and family centered faith-growth experiences.
A Family of Faith will help you to live and teach your children that our awareness and love of the Faith doesn't stop at the door of the church; we nurture and carry it within so that it may bubble up and spill forth abundantly wherever we go!
How A Family of Faith Works
Learn the key teachings of the faith in our FIRST SUNDAY workshops at the parish. For parents, these are held in Spirit Hall from 9:15 – 10:15 AM. Children will begin in Spirit Hall and move to Kostka Hall for age appropriate formation.
In the middle of each month, families are encouraged to gather around the kitchen table and share in the readings, games, crafts and activities which are part of A Family of Faith home-based catechesis. With parent guidance, these resources will help to spark each child’s religious imagination and moral conscience and increase their appreciation for the faith.
Share in a monthly evening of enrichment activities in which families get to deepen their relationship with Jesus and each other while engaging in holy play. These are held in Spirit Hall on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday of the month from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
