What is OCIA: Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.
The learning process to becoming Catholic!
Requirements: At least 18 years old.
Open to learning and exploring your faith.
Desire to learn about Catholicism.
Process: Weekly mass, Sunday 10:30.
Weekly Seminar, Sundays 1:00 - 2:30.
Beginning 8 September 2024.
Key Experiences: Engaging Scripture after the homily on Sundays.
The Rites of Acceptance or Welcoming, in Advent.
As you grow in understanding + faith, rites in Lent.
An afternoon Retreat.
Holy Saturday’s Initiation: Baptism and/or Confirmation.
Faith in Action: You’ve said Yes! What does that mean?
What do you do?OCIA Gathering Frequency: Once a week seminar, 1:00-2:30.
Mass at 10:00.
OCIA Gathering Format: Seminar.
Inquirers bring questions, concerns, hopes, wonders to the conversation.
Inquirers’ experience is the heart of what we do and why we do it.
Seminar is a Combination of: individual, partnered and small group discussion.
Solo reflection writing.
Short facilitator led presentations and explorations.
Accessible, digestible reading connecting faith to you and your life.
Large group give and take dialogue.
