Point Catholic serves both UWSP and Mid State Technical College students. Point Catholic is a ministry of Holy Spirit Parish.
We strive to cultivate a community of faith that empowers and supports students to grow as disciples of Christ. This takes on many different forms: from spiritual and sacramental formation, to engaging students in service with the broader community, bonding them with fellow students, social justice outreach, and ultimately, forming the whole person (mind, body, spirit).
We hope that by the time our students graduate, they are ready to live the Gospel out in the world, and be able to fully participate in the life of a parish.
Location
Holy Spirit Parish is located in the heart of campus, right beside the Dreyfus Center.

Busy Student Retreat
Every February, we host a Busy Student Retreat. The Busy Student Retreat is a five day experience, that happens on campus, in our Ministry Center. While maintaining your daily schedule as a student, you are provided a space to meet with a spiritual director for (4) consectutive days, at your convenience! In the evening, our parishioners cook a meal and one of the spiritual directors preaches on a given subject. We have a lineup of religous sisters and priests. The BSR starts on Sunday night with a meal and ends on Thursday.
*The date of the Busy Student Retreat is February 18-22, 2024. Please message [email protected] if interested!
Christian Service
As Catholics Christians, being love to other people is at the core of what we do. Each month there will be different service opportunities not only for the parish but for the community as well. We also encourage students to take initiative by sharing causes they are passionate about.

Spring Break Service Trip
Each year, students participate in an alternative spring break trip. We are hoping to take a group to Kentucky to work with Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) and work all week to serve those who need us most through renovating and rebuilding their homes. Give back this spring break!
Spring Break is March 17-26, 2023

Bible Studies
At Point Catholic, we believe that it is critical that you be formed in community. One way that we do this is through our Bible studies led by our FOCUS missionaries. Our Bible studies provide a safe place to study the Word of God and share in reflection with peers.
We have multiple options for men and women's bible studies. Please see the times listed below!
Women's Bible Study is offered on Tuesday's @ 7:30pm, Wednesday's @ 6:30pm & Thursdays @ 7:30pm
Men's Bible Study is offered on Wednesday's @ 6:30pm
We'll get you connected with one of our FOCUS missionaries to learn more!
Learning About Faith
For those who aren't Catholic or are Catholic, but haven't received all of the sacraments, we offer OCIA as a parish. OCIA stands for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, which is the formal process of becoming an adult Catholic.
You can email Fr Steve at [email protected] if you would like to learn more about being Catholic and joining OCIA!
